Cottage
The Hive Cottage is a heritage British Cottage, originally used by Christopher Corbett, father of the legendary Jim Corbett, and has hosted numerous dignitaries of the British Empire. It is currently owned by R.K Dr. Ranjit Bhargava, an eminent environmentalist, and the Great Grand Son of Legendary publisher Munshi Naval Kishore of Lucknow.
A 10 minute walk from the Mall road, the Hive is situated on a picturesque green hill in the Ayarpatta, overlooking the majestic valley. A vivid painting of natural mountain flora and fauna, the Hive compound contains a variety of trees, including the famed Blue Magnolia, birds, butterflies and wildlife including the flying squirrel, pheasants, jungle fowl, porcupine, fox, etc. This mini-forest is juxtaposed with meandering walkways, fruit trees and bright mountain flowers that weave around the entire area and lace the cottage and pathways. The heritage Villa cottage, itself, overlooks an ancient Magnolia tree, which bursts into magnificent blooms during season.
The Hive has a fine-dining restaurant that serves delectable Indian and Continental cuisines. A cosy lounge area and ample sit-out areas have been created against the backdrop of the innate beauty of the mountains. So you can sit under the sparkling stars or amidst the warm elegance of the restaurant and lounge and sample the vast array of mouth-watering dishes from our menu.
