A FINE PLACE TO LOUNGE

A short drive past the landscaped gardens brings you to the entrance of the hotel. Where instead of fierce guards you will be greeted by a smiling durban with characteristic curled whiskers. As you enter, you can't miss the crossed swords, daggers and shield - a distinct feature in a Rajput house.

A step further, and you are in the grand Lobby. Comfortable couches surround a sparkling marble fountain. Stop for a minute to take in the cut glass doorways, scalloped arches and the Jodhpuri art, which peeks out from various corners.

LIVING LIFE KINGSIZE

93 well appointed rooms, including 3 suites, give you a fine taste of the grandeur of an earlier era. While also offering you all the modern amenities including modems and dataports. Most of the rooms lead out onto a stunning jharokha or balcony. From where you can command a pleasant view of the bustling city or the shimmering blue pool.

THE DINING EXPERIENCE

The Lobby of the Taj Hari Mahal opens out onto a bright, sunny Courtyard or Chowk - a familiar sight in old Rajasthani havelis. But here, whispering fountains, swaying palms and wrought iron furniture lend it an ambience that is decidedly contemporary. Spend a lazy afternoon here with a smooth cocktail and a gripping novel.

If you are looking for a perfect venue to relax and unwind, try the Verandah Cafe, which has a soothing view of the pool. It's especially fascinating in the evening, when the sun casts its final rays on the pool and the folk musicians and dancers in their colourful finery perform with aplomb.

Strong, spicy flavours dominate the traditional Marwari cuisine. And at the Marwar - you will find all the local favourites: Jodhpuri Mas (an appetising mutton gravy) Gatta ki sabza ( a zesty vegetable dish) and more. Along with choice Continental cuisine. You will discover a similar tantalising assortment on our well laden Buffet table as well . The rich mawa ki kachori or the equally sinful 'Bull's Eye' - chocolate truffle with ice cream are unarguably, the best ways to round off a meal.

Silk paintings, Oriental masks, red tassels - the mood changes suddenly, and you are in Good Earth . Our specialty Chinese restaurant, the only one of its kind in all of Rajasthan. The hot favourites - but naturally, king Parwns fried to a golden crisp!

A rivetting wood carving of the 'Tree of Life' forms the backdrop of The Bar . However, there's a lot more than exotic cocktails served here. There's a writing table - talk about mixing business and pleasure - a card table and even a chess table.

Tucked away in a little corner is the Pastry Shop . But with its appealing array of tarts and truffles, it serves as an ever present temptation for sinful indulgence.

MIXING BUSINESS WITH LEISURE

Think of the Business Centre as an extension of your office. With three meeting rooms, private workstations and a host of other services, it can ably take care of all your work related needs.

For conferences, we offer you 5 spacious halls with state of the art audio visual equipment. The largest hall Amar Mahal , with its ornate columns and aweinspiring chandeliers can accommodate up to 700 people.

The Meherangarh Hall can hold 150 people and can even be divided into two equal sections for smaller conferences, if necessary. The two smaller halls, Mogra and Gulab, can comfortably seat between 8 and 12 people. Both open out onto the large, airy Meherangarh Terrace. Named so, because of the magnificent view it commands of the Meherangarh Fort.

OTHER FACILITIES

Amid a hectic work schedule, the azure blue Swimming Pool serves as a welcome diversion. The four exquisite jharokhas surrounding it, add a nice Jodhpuri touch.

And if you enjoy the rigours of a workout, climb down to the fitness Centre. Where you will find a fully equipped gymnasium, aerobics room, spa, massage rooms as well as a ladies beauty parlour and gents salon.
