underground caves at Patal Bhuvaneshwar encapsulate in stone aeons
of Hindu mythology. it is believed that a king discovered the cave
and that the first guru, Adi Shankaracharya, consecrated it. The
dark & mysterious caves have natural features eroded in limestone.
It's a long descent into the caves over a natural staircase. According
to popular belief, various important events from Indian mythology,
like the Holy Ganges flowing out of the tresses of Lord Shiva, the
original head of Lord Ganesha - the God with an elephant's head,

of the rocks.

cave has Shiv Shakti in which there are three lingams covered with
copper plates represents the three natural powers Brahma the Creator,
Vishnu the Sustainer & Shiva the Destroyer.
