- Marble Rocks
At 22 km from Jabalpur, in a gorge on the Narmada River called Bhedaghat, is a series of towering white rocks rising to the height of 30 metres on either side of the river with volcanic seams of varying hues - black, green, brown, pink. The magic of this spectacle is best appreciated by moonlight. Boats on hire can take you down on a 2 km stretch.
Dhuandhar Falls
23 km from Jabalpur and just 1 km from Marble Rocks are the Dhuandhar falls (smoke cascade) where the Narmada river plunges through a narrow chasm, the Hathi-ka-paon ( elephant foot) rock and the Monkey's Leap ledge.
- Madan Mahal Fort
This fort (enroute to Marble Rocks) was built in 1116 by the Gond ruler, Raja Madan Shah. Constructed atop a rocky hill, the fort dominates the skyline and provides a panoramic view of the town and countryside around it.
- Chausath Jogini Mandir or Madanpur temple
This 10th century temple, located near the Falls, is circular in shape and has broken images of the 64 yoginis (attendants) of Goddess Kali. The temple is considered associated to the palace of the Gond queen Durgawati.
- Sangram Sagar and Bajnamath
These medieval constructions were built by the famous Gond King, Sangram Shah, between 1480-1540.
- Rani Durgavati Memorial and Museum
The museum houses a fine collection of sculptures, inscriptions and prehistoric relics.
- Tilwara Ghat
From where Mahatma Gandhi's ashes were immersed in the Narmada, and venue of the open session of the Tripuri Congress in 1939.
- The 12th century Mala Devi Mandir, Pisan Hari Jain Temples and Roopnath are some of the other sites in and around Jabalpur which merit a visit.
