Delhi - Gwalior - Jhansi - Khajuraho - Varanasi - Sarnath - Kathmandu.
Day 1
Arrive Delhi. The morning is at leisure. In the afternoon visit the Parliament House, the Secretariat, the Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate, Lakshmi Narain Temple, Jantar Mantar (astronomical observatory), Connaught Place, the Qutab Minar and Humayun's Tomb. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 2
Visit Old Delhi in the morning. See the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Shanti Vana and Chandni Chowk - the bustling shopping area. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Delhi.
Day3
Drive early morning to Agra. Check in at the hotel. Visit the Taj Mahal, the fort and Fatehpur Sikri. Overnight in Agra.
Day 4
Early morning leave by train for Gwalior. Check into the hotel. Afternoon visit the Man Mandir, Gujari Mahal (now an archaeological museum), the fort, Temples of Sas-Bahu, Teli-ka-Mandir, Jai Vilas Palace, Tomb of Gaus Mohammand and the Mausoleum of Tansen. Overnight in Gwalior.
Day 5
Morning, leave by train for Jhansi. Check into the hotel and proceed to Orchha (19 kms.) A medieval India is projected palace complex built in l6th and l7th centuries, overlooking the Betwa river. Also of interest are Orchha's temples with heir unusual murals. Return and overnight in Jhansi.
Day 6
Early morning drive to Khajuraho. Check into the hotel. Afternoon visit the world' famous Khajuraho Temples built by the Chandela Kings between 950 A.D. and 1050 A.D. the Chaunset Yogini Temple dedicated to Goddess 'Kali' the Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji Temple with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishwanath and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple Visha Temple dedicated to Shiva, which is the largest. Overnight in Khajuraho.
Day 7
Morning visit the Eastern group of temples that consist of the Parasvanath Temple which is the only Jain temple surviving at Khajuraho and has excellent sculptures on the outer walls of the sanctum, the Javeri Temple dedicated to Vishnu. The other temples in this group are dedicated to Brahma, Yamuna and Adinath. Rest of the day at leisure Overnight in Khajuraho.
Day 8
Arrive Varanasi by air in the afternoon. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 9
Early morning boat excursion on the holy river Ganges to see the Bathing Ghats and cremation sites Watching people bathing and worshipping at the Ghats is one of the most extraordinary experiences of a visit to India. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Half day tour visiting temples and later drive to Sarnath, the buried Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Samath was a renowned school of learning from the 6th century. B.C. to l2th century A.D. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 10
Morning, visit the Kumari Devi Temple, Akash Bhairav Temple, Hanuman Dhoka and walk along the local bazaars. Afternoon an excursion to the old city of Patan. See the temple of Teleja, Darbar Square and the statue of Yogendramala. On return from Patan, visit the 2500 year old Buddhist temple Swayamdhunath. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 11
Morning, Visit 9th century Baidgoan. See the ancient Gateway, Darbar Square, the royal residential quarters and the famous five storey temple of Nytapole. Overnight in Kathmandu.
