About Medan :
|
Medan is the fourth largest city of Indonesia occupying a strategic point on Sumatra's northeast coast and is a most important entryway for boats and flights from Malaysia. The city is well known for its two specifities- smutty and messy. But other than these characteristics, it is associated with nineteenth-century colonial architecture, brought into existence by Dutch community. The capitalist Jacob Nienhuys, who observed the possibility for tobacco plantations had given a different prospect to the city. |
