Once a royal guesthouse and now a hotel complex, Hotel Metropole was constructed during the time of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, was ideally suited for a hotel or a guest house with a ballroom dance floor, which was also the spacious dining hall, and spacious rooms with excellent furniture. |
The hotel was run by the Government of Mysore and later by the Government of Karnataka and was known for its service and food. It was the only hotel for a long time for accommodating foreign tourists. It was bee-hive tourist activity all those years.
