Putting
the real in the reel
Pictures
are the best souvenir of any honeymoon. Follow these simple tips
to make your pictures perfect!
- Load film correctly.
Align film properly on the spools and advance a few frames to
make sure it winds.
- Practice with
your camera. If you've bought a new camera, shoot a roll at
home and develop it before you go on your honeymoon. If you
already have a camera, but haven't used it in a while, try it
out to make sure it's working.
- Bring extra
film and batteries. Buy all your picture-taking necessities
before you leave home. Film and camera accessories may not be
available, or may be expensive in hotel gift shops and at tourist
attractions.
- Hold your camera
steady. This assures that your pictures will be in focus. In
low light, use a tripod or lean your camera, or yourself, against
a wall or post.
- Protect your
camera. Extremes in temperature can ruin film and the lens of
your camera; meanwhile, dust and moisture-seawater, humidity-can
jam delicate components. To guard your film from exposure by
airport X-ray machines, use a film shield bag.

- Know the limits
of fully automatic cameras. Make sure you focus properly. Get
close to your subject. Avoid contrasting light situations or
subjects in motion-most automatics can't handle them.
