Places to visitDharamgharSituated 9 km from Chaukori, this is where Sarla Behn, the disciple of Gandhi Ji, spent her last days. One can enjoy a marvelous view of the Himalayan peaks from her Himdarshan Kutir.
ExcursionBerinag10 km. Situated at a height of 1720 mtrs, it offers an excellent view of the Himalayas and is accessible by road. It was once known for its tea estates.
Gangolihat35 km. An important religious center of Kumaon. It has the famous Hat-Lalika temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. The temple is also a popular venue for local fairs.
