Accessibility
Airways- Dehradun is well connected with Delhi and other important centres in northern India, mostly via Delhi. Besides Indian Airlines, private operators also provide the connectivity.
The Jolly Grant Airport is about 25 km from Dehradun.
Tourist taxis are available for transfer to the city. Alternatively, one can catch any bus running between Dehradun and Rishikesh.
Rail- A number of trains are available for Dehradun. From Dehradun and other important centres in UP and several centres of India.

At Dehradun, the two bus terminals are : Delhi Bus Stand on Gandhi Road, which is an inter state bus stand; and Mussoorie Bus Stand at the Dehradun Railway Stadiumoffering bus services to Mussorie and other destinations in the Himalayan region.

 Forest Research Institute Established by the British in the early years of this century,
the Institute is one of the finest of its kind in the world. Across
the six galleries of its Museum are laid out some of the best
collections of specimens of flora and fauna. Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology Another place of interest worth a visit. A museum containing
rock samples, semiprecious stones and fossils is the center of
attraction here. Tapkeshwar Temple Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is beside a stream, which
is directed to flow onto the lingam. During Shivratri, a large
fair is held here. Robber's Cave Popularly known as Guchhu Pani, it is situated 8 km from Dehradun.
The last kilometer has to be covered on foot. The cave is a picnic
spot, surrounded by hills. Here, water vanishes underground only
to reappear after a few yards in the form of a stream. Other places of interest include: Malsi Deer Park (10 km) a newly
developed spot on Dehradun Mussoouri diversion road.  Jhanda Fair This fair marks the arrival of Guru Ram Rai, the Sikh
Guru, at Dehradun. In the year 1699, Guru Ram Rai built a Gurudwara,
Guru Ram Rai Darbar and hoisted his flag. Till this day a large
fair is held here every year in the month of March/April on the
sixth day after Holi and a flag (Jhanda) unfurled at Jhanda Chowk. Tapkeshwar Fair 6 km from Dehradun is the famous Tapkeshwar Shiv Temple.
Annually a fair is held here on Shivratri dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lakhawar Fair This fair held at Lakhawar village, during September-October,
is very popular in the neighboring area of Chakrata, 78 km from
Mussoorie. The fair reflects the customs and traditions of Garhwali
tribes. Activities include cultural programs and sport competitions.
