Itinerary

Access to Sangla valley has always been elusive. Hundreds of years ago, the heroes of the epic Mahabharata hid here during the last year of their exile. Much later the valley was closed for strategic reasons. The Indo-Tibet border is only 20 kms away. Sangla valley has a timeless heritage : Polyandry, Hinduism, Buddhism, Oracles and the Bhojpatra - a rare tree bark finer than the finest of papers. Ancient Indian scriptures were written on them. At the Baspa banks you can loll in a hammock in the neighboring woods. The aroma, the humming wind, and the fallen leaves which crackle beneath the feet are an experience which you will always cherish. As is the siesta by the brook called Baspa. It boasts of the best trout in India. Besides our hospitality, you will love the hot baths, alfresco breakfasts, bar-be-cue, and the recreational facilities. And should you lose a game of croquet, m'sieur, you can put our boomerang to fitting use.
