Sitting on the prettiest part of Candolim Beach is Aashyana Havelis. Aashyana Havelis consists of a beautiful five-bedroom house and three, two bedroom, villas in an enormous beachfront garden of some 10,000 sq mts with a large swimming pool.
Aashyana Havelis is an amazing find for Leisure days. We have always known there was a wonderful house right on the beach in Candolim – because we had been told of its existence many times but due to the incredibly private location we could only dream of what it was like. .

A short walk along a quiet lane brings you to the gates of the imposing 5 bedroom house Aashyana Lakhanpal. Just inside the gates is a row of pretty cottages where the resident staff are housed. Here is also the kitchen garden that overflows produce where much of the spices, herbs and vegetables are grown for the household..

A sweeping circular drive brings you to the main entrance of this two-story house. The front “balcao” has a large seating area in the traditional Goan/Portuguese style and from here heavy wooden double doors open into the entrance hall.

This room also leads out on to the focal point of the house .

Deep, sea facing, covered terrace that runs the whole width of the rear of the house.Here there is large dining area and several seating areas all overlooking the cool shady garden.

Leading off this terrace and with totally independent entrances are two magnificent bedrooms.

Bedroom 1 is a large air-conditioned bedroom suite with an enormous 6” 3’ wide double four poster bed and a beautiful en suite bathroom. Both bedroom and bathroom open in to a totally private black and white marble courtyard with a single palm tree and a water feature. This bedroom opens off the large side terrace that overlooks a peaceful Zen garden.
Bedroom 2, also has a large 6” 3’ wide double bed, is air-conditioned and has a magnificent en suite bathroom. The bathroom opens into a small private courtyard with a black marble circular bathtub so you can bathe under the stars by candlelight. This bedroom also has a wide window that over looks the garden and sea beyond.

FIRST FLOOR

From the entrance hall a wide sweeping staircase takes you to two more of the bedrooms. The landing area is home to a comfy library and a huge partly covered sea-facing terrace, again comfortably furnished. Leading off the library is
Bedroom 3 is a large air-conditioned suite consisting of an enormous 6” 6’ double bed on a raised platform and a sitting area. There is also a fabulous en suite bathroom. This bedroom also has the benefit of having a totally private covered terrace that overlooks the garden and sea beyond.
Bedroom 4 is again air-conditioned and with a 6” 6’ double bed and another beautiful en suite bathroom. There is a door that opens on to an open terrace that is shared with the fifth bedroom

Also on the first floor is the fifth bedroom accessed either by a separate staircase at the front of the house or via the fourth bedroom

Bedroom 5 is also air-conditioned and has a flexible arrangement where by the beds can be configured as a large 7 feet wide double OR as two single beds. There is also an enormous mosaic tiled bathroom.

GARDENS :

The gardens are enormous and have a wide beach frontage – winding pathways meander through coconut groves, past cashew bushes, lemon guava, papaya, and wonderful colourful frangipani, casuarinas and bougainvillea bushes. Wonderful secret areas and wide-open spaces. The gardens have as much to offer as the interior of the house.

Outside dining area with a huge dining table in the shade of the coconut palms for al fresco informal lunches or dinner under the stars.
At the gate to the beach is a palm frond covered ‘hideout’ offering welcome shady seating.
Totally hidden from the house at the bottom of the garden is the large 25 x 5 metre swimming pool with pool side furniture, shady gazebo and bathroom/shower. This pool is shared with the guests occupying the 3 villas in the grounds who also use the garden to access the beach. The pool is sufficient distant from the main house that it is not obtrusive when other guest are using it.
