Ras Al Khaimah in Brief :-

National Museum
The National Museum of Ras al-Khaimah looks after all aspects of Ras al-Khaimah's rich heritage. The Collections consist of archaeological material mostly from excavations conducted over the last 20 years; ethnographic material depicting the traditional way of Ras al-Khaimah's people and natural history specimens such as shells, fossils and rocks.
Archaeology
30 years ago in 1968 Beatrice de Cardi and Brian Doe carried out a survey of archaeological sites in the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah. H.H. Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed al-Qasimi, Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, who had always been interested in a better understanding of the history of the emirate, supported their work from the beginning and invited them to continue in the following years. These surveys were the foundation of the Archaeology of Ras al-Khaimah.

Gateway City
The Gateway will herald a new era in the development of Ras Al Khaimah. This integrated commercial and residential project is over 400 million square feet in size.
The Gateway will be built in 5 phases and is estimate for completion by 2012; when complete it will house 50,000 people. Phase 1 is an integrated city, which will marry the convenience of one's home to the proximity of cultural and social provisions, the intimacy of traditional streets to smooth accessibility and quality public realm.

Mina Al Arab
Mina AL Arab is the second major development project in RAK. To be developed at an estimated cost of AED 10 billion, it will occupy a total area of 30 million square feet spread over a beachfront strip and a group of islands. This exciting project proposes the creation of integrated and diverse communities offering luxury residential and international standard tourism developments, coupled with world class retail entertainment and waterside dining facilities.
Mina Al Arab is made complete by a host of amenities which complement the community and make it the ideal home, or the perfect retreat. These amenities include 310 hectares of open spaces, ecological preserves & landscaping, traditional 'abra' water taxis, parks, medical facilities, mosque, cafes & restaurants, and recreational facilities such as gym, tennis courts, spas and sporting activities.

The Marjan Island
The 'Al Marjan' project is the very first man-made island that is being built in Ras al Khaimah.
Located at 27 km from the city center of Ras al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate and the seventh to join the UAE, the coral-shaped island of Al Marjan will extend up to 2 km at sea. The reclamation will link several smaller islets, creating a Mediterranean style waterfront which compares to the French Côte d'Azur. At 45 minutes by car from the international airport in Dubai and 15 minutes from the international airport of Ras al Khaimah, Al Marjan is expected to become a permanent home, a weekend destination or just an investment opportunity.

A special category of visas under the Visit Visa type is a Tourist Visa, which can be obtained for individual tourists from: East and West Europe, Turkey, Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine, Albania, Russia, the Hellenic Republic, St Kitts-Navis, St Lucia, Mexico, Cuba, Bermuda, Belize, Guyana, French Guiana, Martinique, Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent, Kingston, Palao other non-defined American nationalities, Thailand, South Africa, Singapore, China, Malta, Cyprus.
The Tourist Visa entitles its holder to a 30 day stay and is non-renewable. The Tourist Visa requires the sponsorship of hotels and tour operators who bring in visitors from the above listed countries. The fee is AED 100. There is also a fee of AED 10 for visa delivery service by DNATA. Hotels, hotel apartments, tour operators, travel agents and airlines may not levy supplementary charges or processing fees in excess of AED 50/- for arranging visas for visitors.
