Set amidst lush green coconut palms, Bamboo Bay faces
the deep blue sea and the sandy beach. A new air-conditioned
space opens out into the gardens leading to the sea. The
twin seating areas create unique moods ideal for a business
dinner or an intimate evening.
The central area is adorned by a traditional hand plastered
black and red oxide cement flooring and handcrafted wicker
chairs. The space is dressed in bamboo, woven coconut
leaf matting, and tribal motifs. An impressive artwork
marks the central roofing panel. The rough-hewn wooden
chairs add to the rugged, natural look. Music mixes with
the sounds of the sea and adds to the very relaxed ambience.
Bamboo Bay is open every evening from 7 pm onwards for
cocktails by the beach.
Aqua
A poolside zone to cool the senses and dip into the Barbeque
delights with a tantalizing view of the bay.
A peppy international menu to create the ultimate dining
experience, goes perfectly well with the fantastic list
of cocktails, classic and contemporary world wines.
Candles illuminate the night to make the outdoor ambience
a sheer delight inviting the dusk to set into the quiet
hustle of the shore. Entertainment is unlimited from daily
screenings of live sport events to trendy shows.
Regular events and exotic shows always set the tone of
the evening between 17:30 to 23:30 hrs.
Someplace Else Bar
The Someplace Else Bar, sits on the top floor with well
stocked cellar in a library bar setting. Experience is
enhanced by meal combinations in the menu. The picture
glass windows running the entire length of the wall, frames
the spectacular landscape and a seascape.
Vista
Set within the six acres of lush tropical gardens, with
views of the beach and the horizon beyond, this 70 seater
restaurant gives a feeling of openness and is tropical
with a trendy twist.
The inspiration of Vista was its location itself. A linear
axis connects the arc shaped hotel on the beach, to the
restaurant, an isolated multi faceted glass pavilion,
set amidst several acres of verdant tropical gardens facing
the Bay of Bengal. The interesting shape of the pavilion
is accentuated by revealing the angled beams to have a
presence. The beams were clad in wood and the rest of
the roof in a delicate bamboo matting. A shallow, clam
reflecting pool with turquoise handmade tiles encircles
the glass façade, creating an island effect. Each
of the large picture windows that look out into the expanse
of the gardens or the pool area frame a temple tree.
The pivotal point of the restaurant is a seductive spiral
form progressively turning upwards in curved frosted glass
and backlit. The central form houses the buffet counter.
The realistic larger than life grass representation reinforces
nature within the space.
A sure first for Visakhapatnam with Vista will be the
introduction of world cuisine on its menu. The main options
for a la carte dining will highlight cuisines from the
tropics & genuine Italian gourmet food, while a substantial
collection of carefully selected Pan-Indian cuisines will
bring cheer .The dining experience at Vista is a visual
& gourmet treat. Much thought has been put into the
styling of each plate. The dessert compositions are a highlight.
This will be reinforced with another first for Visakhapatnam
an imported buffet display with a Swiss induction
heating system. The menu will revolve around the world,
offering delectable cuisines from around the tropics &
India. A spanking new Pasta station will accompany every
nights buffet to lend variety to the food selection.
Another arresting point of the décor is a huge
eight feet diameter suspension dome light in crushed handmade
paper. The dome light looms over the central spiral form
creating a warm and engaging focal point for the restaurant.
The seating is comfortable. The dining chairs with walnut
wood frame and cane back are upholstered in a fresh lime
green leather and the sofa seats in soft peach. The table
tops shine with imperial beige marble with smart combination
of stainless steel bases.
The colour palette of lime green and peach is in contrast
with the beige and brown of the flooring and the walls.
A subtle use of natural materials like Walnut wood, bamboo,
cane, crushed handmade paper and mint sandstone is a conscious
effort to reinforce the rusticity of the tropical feel,
with contemporary interpretations and stylish innovations.
The mood is luxurious, charming and relaxed. The cuisine
is delectable, modern and stylish. Vista is the restaurant
of todays generation.
