The Iris villa is perched on a ridge which has clear and unobstructed views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range all around like the beautiful alpine flower the "Iris" which our hotel is named after. The alpine trees are all around with their pure scent of Himalayan freshness , chirping birds and the enchanting hymns can be heard from the Enchey monastery , a two hundred year old monastery nearby .
The villa is located near the wild life sanctuary , which has amazing flora and fauna and there are enough village and jungle trails to revel in. The beauty of its location is that its so close to nature , but just a few minutes hike down will bring you to the bustling Gangtok bazaar in its modern splendour.
These two exquisite stupas are located near the Deorati Bazzar. The first was build by Trulshi Rinpoche, head of Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism, in 1945, to commemorate the victory of good over evil. more
