The transvestite cabaret show has been a fixture on the entertainment scene in Bangkok for several years. Calypso has been razzle-dazzling since 1987 and remains a favourite, with changing routines to keep things fresh. Whilst the show changes from time to time, there is a basic formula that guarantees there will be traditional songs included in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, some high-camp western ballads, a little Thai culture and anything that demands feather boas and over-the-top outfits a la Carmen Miranda. Kaleidoscopic colours and glamour emanate from the stage, whilst the humour and cheekiness is never offensive. The performance is suitable and entertaining for all ages. 17 years ago by now , 1987 , we decided to create a show , which should be different , - how that ? ! In the show bussiness many curtains were red , many legs were long and feathers on top of all. And yet , there was that vision and that urge to try - and since we do. With red curtains and long legs and feathers , too and with that one shining detail , which is by now CALYPSO's trademark.

We minimize choreographic ambitions and create choreographies , which highlight the specific talents and abilities of our actors and actresses. We do not cater to any markets or fashions or trends.
