Situated midway between Jaipur and Udaipur, Shahpura Bagh was the summer residence of the rulers of Shahpura. The 40-acre estate was granted by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to Rajadhiraj Sujjan Singh, Rana Pratap’s great grandson in 1630 AD for successful military campaigns against the Marathas and Afghans.
Location
Shahpura Bagh is at a convenient driving distance from Jaipur and Udaipur (3 ½ - 4 hrs) making it an ideal break between two very busy tourist destinations in an itinerary. Shahpura Bagh is just four hours drive from Sawai Madhopur via Tonk, Devli and Jahazpur; an ideal link for itineraries that connect onwards to Jodhpur or Udaipur. By train you can access Shahpura Bagh upto Ajmer by Shatabdi from Delhi and then drive two and half hours via Nasirabad and Gulabpura to Shahpura.

Dining : Besides plenty of space on the estate for outdoor dining, the main dining area is in Nahar Niwas. There are more covers in the verandah of the Nahar Niwas. Breakfast can also be served in the lawns behind Umed Niwas where the swimming pool is proposed. Meals are largely North Indian and Rajasthani. They also serve a selection of continental and Chinese dishes that offer a welcome change from the regular fare.

Accommodation : Shahpura Bagh is offers accommodation in 5 Suites and 3 Superior Rooms. Nahar Niwas, one of the two residences on the estate, still remains the family home offers one superior room and one suite. The rooms open out into a large open terrace overlooking the surrounding woods and the lakes.
A short distance away is the Umed Niwas which has been restored and has 4 suites and 2 Superior Rooms. The Rooms and Suites are air-conditioned, spacious, well lit, airy and furnished elegantly in warm tones of green, rust and brown. The ensuite bathrooms are delightfully large with modern plumbing and amenities.
