Ranipuram an ideal place for trekking lies at a distance of about 85 kms from Kasargod. It is a beautiful mountain terrain encompassed with evergreen shola woods, monsoon forests and grasslands. It is a good destination for nature lovers and bird watcher's as one can have a look at innumerable butterflies and birds like black eagle, crested serpent eagle and the spider hunter.

Ranipuram is located at an elevation of about 750 m above the sea level. The best time to visit this small village is from September to March. The forest of the village which spreads across a wide area merge with the forests of Karnataka. One can also have a glimpse of the traditional folk dance Theyyam in the month of May which is held to appease the mother goddess.
