Days Tour Covering Destinations :
Madras, Tirupathi, Mamallapuram, Tiruvanamalai, Pondicherry, Chidambaram, Thanjavur, Trichy, Madurai and Rameshwaram.
Day One:
Arrive Madras-the gateway to southern India, Assistance and transfer to hotel. After noon half-day sight seeing tour, visiting Gandhi memorial, Kala Kshetra, Mylapore temple and Marina beach. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day Two:
Madras to Tirupathi (154kms/3½hrs) by road Proceed to Tirupathi in the morning. Tirupathi is famous for temple of Lord Venkateshwara (Lord of seven hills or Balaji, as he is affectionately known) which is the oldest and richest temple in India. Overnight stay at hotel. |

Three:
Madras
to Mamallapuram (64kms/2hrs) by road After breakfast drive to
Mamallapuram. Check in at the hotel. Sightseeing of rock cut outs,
shrines, carvings on rock depicting demons, gods and animals are
poetic in nature. He unique temple houses both Lord Vishnu (The
god of growth and life) and Lord Shiva (The god of death). Overnight
stay at hotel.
Day
Four:
Mamallapuram
to Tiruvanamalai to Pondicherry by road After breakfast, drive
by surface to visit Tiruvanamalai (112kms/3hrs) to
view Temple
of Lord of Destruction - Lord Shiva. After lunch at local restaurant
proceed to Pondicherry (131 kms /
3 ½ hrs) , a place which carries a strong whiff of the French presence
in India. Check in and overnight stay at the hotel.

Five:
Pondicherry
Morning drive tom visit Aurbindo Ashram- which presents a synthesis
of Yoga and modern science so as to unite spirit and matter as
stated in Shri Mad Bhagvat Geeta (the holy preaching given by
Lord Krishna to Arjuna). Afternoon visit to Auroville-a unique
experiment in international living and in creating a new environment
where men and women of all nationalities live together in harmony.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Day
Six:
Pondicherry
to Chidambaram to Thanjavur by road After breakfast drive to Chidambaram
(65-kms/1-½ hrs) to visit famous Natraja Temple. In this temple
postures of Bharatnatyam form of dance are depicted in sculpture.
Natraj is Lord Shiva as a cosmic dancer. Afternoon drive to Thanjavur
to view 15 meter high temple tower on a square base of 29 meters
and then tapers off making a total of 66 meters. Check in and
overnight stay at hotel.

Seven:
Thanjavur
to Trichy (54kms/2hrs) After breakfast, leave by surface for Trichy-situated
on the banks of Kaveri River. It is famous for Ranganath temple
at Srirangam. Check in at the hotel. Afternoon city tour visiting
Rock fort. Then visit Srirangam and Jambukeshwar temple.
Day
Eight:
Trichy
to Madurai (133kms/3 ½ hrs) by road After breakfast proceed to
Madurai. Check in at the hotel. This city is at the bank of river
Vaigai with Meenakshi temple in the center. Afternoon city tour
visiting Meenakshi temple, King Tirumalai's Palace, Great Tank
and Gandhi Museum. Overnight stay at hotel.

Nine:
Madurai
to Rameshwaram (154kms/4hrs) by road After early breakfast, proceed
for Rameshwaram - the most sacred temple town of India, where
Lord Rama came before going into battle at Sri Lanka. One of the
twelve Jyotirlingam shrines that are well known for its magnificent
corridors and massive sculptured pillars is the main attraction
of Rameshwaram. Return to Madurai. Overnight stay at hotel.

Ten:
Madurai
to Madras to Onward destination Transfer to airport to catch flight
to Madras. Fly to Madras to get connected to next flight to onward
destination.
