The holy town of South India 'Pandalam' is located in Pathanamthitta district of  It stands next to Sabarimala in respect to religious importance so piligrims stop here to worship the deity of Valiyakoikal Temple near the Pandalam Palace before proceeding to Sabarimala.It is presumed that the son of the Raja of Pandalam was the human sojourn of Sree Ayyappa, the presiding deity of Sabarimala. One can also have a look at the ornaments of Sree Ayyappa as three days before the Makaravilaku festival these are taken in a procession from Pandalam to Sabarimala. The ideal time to visit this holy town is from November to January.
