Nager Bazar forms one of the suburbs of Kolkata city. The region constitutes one of the easternmost fringes of the city. Nager Bazar is about 3 kms from the Nager Bazar terminal and about 13 kms from the center of the city. The township is connected to the city by Jessore Road that goes beyond Nager Bazar and to Darjeeling. Nager Bazar forms one of the residential places in eastern Kolkata. The place is occupied by a good proportion of the population. The region has a number of small scale industrial units and commercial enterprises. Nager Bazar has small markets that provide the necessities to the people living there. The small scale units deal primarily with manufacturing of machine parts. The locality has sufficient number of educational institutes, medical facilities and means of transportation.
