Krishnapatnam or Kistnapatam is a port town in Muthukur mandal of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh, India. Krishnapatnam is located at 14.2833° N 80.1167° E. It has an average elevation of 3 meters (13 feet). Krishnapatnam is a major port and market center. It is situated at a distance of 24 km from Nellore City in Nellore District, the southernmost coastal district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Krishnapatnam port is hoped to become a world class deep water port. Iron ore and granite is being exported from this port by lighterage operations (using barges) to other countries like China. The port is currently being connected with the national highway and railway grid and further for transport of Iron ore from Bellary - Hospet region. There is an 4000 MW UMPP (Ultra Mega Power Plant) Planned here.
