Day-By-Day Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival at Cochin
Arrival at Cochin Airport. Rest of the day will be at leisure.

Day 2: Cochin- Munnar Sightseeing
Today visit Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church & Chinese fishing net in Cochin. Next proceed for Munnar.  Day at leisure.

Day 3: Munnar Sightseeing
Proceed for sightseeing in Munnar, including Mattupetty Lake and Rajamala.

Day 4: Munnar- Thekkady
Proceed to Thekkady- the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. After Boat cruise in Periyar Lake visit spice plantation.

Day 5: Thekkady- Alleppey
Morning depart for Alleppey. Enjoy houseboat ride on backwaters amidst lush green vegetation.

Day 6: Alleppey- Kovalam
Proceed to Kovalam. Day spent at leisure on the beach.

Day 7: Kovalam
Relaxed day at the beach with local sightseeing.

Day 8: Kovalam- Trivandrum- Departure
On time transfer to Trivandrum airport for flight to onward destination.

Day 1: Cochin
Welcome to God’s Own Country, upon arrival our ever smiling representative will greet you there at the airport lounge, later proceed to the hotel. Check in and relax for a while amidst the comforts of your room. Later, move for a half day city leisurely walk around the city of Cochin. Cochin which is having the best preserved history of colonial times and the ideal way to bring it alive is to take a walk down memory lane. Surrender to the comfort of your bedroom at the hotel for the night as your tour starts the day after.
 
Day 2: Cochin – Munnar
Full day sightseeing tour of Cochin will commence in the morning.  On today's sightseeing you will get to explore St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue and more.  Believed to be the oldest church in India, it was built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan monks.  Jewish Synagogue houses The Great Scrolls of Old Testament.  The Mattancherry Palace also known as Dutch Palace features Kerala’s murals displaying Hindu temple art, portraits of former Kings of Kochi.  Also watch the Chinese fishing nets in action along the sea front. Conclude the sightseeing trip with a visit to St. Francis Church; the church built in 1503 is the oldest European church in the country and thus is a significant historic monument as well. 

Moving ahead with the journey you will be escorted to your next destination, Munnar.  A scenic hill station nestled in the lap of Mother Nature Munnar is known for its natural beauty, calmness and mild cold climate. 
 
Day 3: Munnar
Located in the south Western Ghats of India, Munnar is a charming hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala.  The land blessed with natural splendour looks dazzling with rocky peaks, rolled mountains, manicured tea gardens and soothing mountain air.  Munnar is located at the confluence of Muthirappuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers.

The day at Munnar begins with a sumptuous breakfast and will be followed by a sightseeing tour of the picturesque environs of Munnar.  Essentially a tea town, Munnar catches the visitor’s attention with its refreshing aroma first and then continues to impress with its beauty and placidity.  The sightseeing plan for the day includes visit to pristine Mattupetty Lake and neighbouring Swiss Livestock Project, a specialized dairy farm where about 100 varieties of high yielding cattle are reared.  The breathtaking scenery of lush mountains of Eravikulam National Park is a natural habitat to estimate half the world population of Nilgiri Tahr along with other ungulates such as Indian Muntjac and Sambar Deer. Other inhabitants of the park are Golden Jackal, Jungle Cat, Leopard, Tiger, Dhole and more.  The region is worth paying a visit for both its enchanting flora and fauna. 

Take a stroll around the local markets to pick souvenirs before you return to your hotel in the evening.
 
Day 4: Munnar- Thekkady
Post breakfast check out and drive to Thekkady.  Set on a jeep safari inside Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary situated on the banks of the Periyar Lake. The sanctuary is one of the biggest natural reserves in India which covers about 777 km squares.  Home to myriad wild creatures this protected area lies in the middle of mountainous region of Cardamom Hills and is cradled with picturesque Periyar Lake.  Animals such as elephant, sambar, gaur and wild boars and beauteous bird populations such as darters, cormorants, kingfishers and racket tailed Drongos have made the park their home.  Spot these animals coming to the banks of Periyar Lake to quench their thirst while you sail on a boat in the pristine lake. Also, visit a spice plantation in the vicinity later and return to the hotel for night stay.
 
Day 5: Thekkady- Alleppey
Morning depart for Alleppey a town with picturesque canals, backwaters, beaches and lagoons, once described as the list of places known as Venice of the East by Lord Curzon.  The most popular destination of Kerala renowned for its angelic beauty and picture perfect looks, this backwaters town is base for most houseboat action in the province.  While sailing these canal routes you will come across scenes from everyday life at Kerala such as villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fisherman and more.  This is where the renowned aquatic festival Nehru Trophy Boat Race is organized and where people cruise on traditional houseboats to soak in some flavor of tropical village life and the tranquility of backwaters.  Enjoy backwaters boat ride amidst lush green vegetation at Alleppey.

The highlight of the tour will be a journey on the crystal clear backwaters while cruising on a traditional houseboat, Kettuvallam.  This is the undoubtedly the best way to travel across Kerala backwaters for this way one gets to travel at one’s own speed and thus to enjoy the pristine environs of the region completely at peace.  Enjoy a comfortable Kettuvallam houseboat for a day cruise. These houseboats now exist in ultrachic style and are comparable to nothing less than floating cottages having ample space and equipped with state-of-the-art amenities ensuring pure luxurious stay amidst most tranquilizing environs of Kerala backwaters.
 
Day 6: Alleppey- Kovalam
Depart early morning for Kovalam, arriving at the hotel there in mid-morning and spending the afternoon sightseeing. This internationally renowned beach town is a favourite haunt of tourists looking to spend laid-back vacations amidst beauteous environs. A former favourite jaunt of hippies, this tropical beach town is known for its picture perfect looks, traditional fishing villages providing a refreshing India tour experience.  Day at Kovalam will be free for trying some recreational activities on the beach or at the hotel.
 
Day 7: Kovalam
As the day progresses at Kovalam a refreshing morning walk on the beach will begin a relaxed day at this pristine beach town. The town known as “Paradise of South India” appears soothing to the eye with its stretches of balmy sands and endless parallel lanes of coconut groves.  Swimming and bathing here is very refreshing and also the safest.  So much so that one can keep walking about 100 meters into the sea without losing hold of the ground.  The underwater magic here is most enchanting which are visible as you snorkel deep inside the ocean. The calm bay of blue waters is the ideal location to tie that hammock or to indulge in playful castle making competitions. Snorkelling and other beach activities can thus be arranged for on guest’s demand at additional cost.
