In the heart of the old city is former royal residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles. The carved arches are supported by grey-white marble columns decked out with floral motifs in gold and colored stones. City Palace is a royal landmark in Jaipur. This marvel of Mughal architecture was brought into existence by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during his realm. The outstanding architecture of the palace and lush green gardens redolent with a fragrance delight the senses and you get smitten to the surroundings. A particular section of the palace is still a royal abode of former Kings. There are many buildings established into the palace like Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Mukut Mahal, Maharani's Palace, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum. The visitors find the Mubarak Mahal just after entering into the palace as it is located in the first block. After espying the resplendent and colorful décor of Mahal, the visitors enter into Diwan-I-Khas through a beautiful gateway. Its two silver vessels are the biggest silver vessels of India. Now it has been converted into an art gallery which is a showroom of bewitching painted ceilings and incredible ancient handwritten original manuscripts of Hindu scriptures.
