One of the few military structures of medieval India, retaining its ancient splendor in palaces, gardens , reservoirs, a granary, an armory, a well planned cannon foundary, several temples, a tall tower and a giant mounted cannon-the Jai Ban, one of the largest in the country are preserved here. The extensive parkotas (walls), watch tower and gateways of Jaigarh dominate the western skyline. The grandeur and splendor of Jaigarh fort is impossible to describe into words. The fort was established to represent the victory of the King. From the fort, the view of the city is simply awe inspiring. This citadel was established in order to safeguard the city of Amber. The reservoirs built in the fort for preserving water and water supply system are excellent examples of engineering. The water channels of Jaigarh fort were made to harvest rainwater. The armory and museum of the fort are highly interesting spots where astounding collection enchants the visitors. The museum features many weapons like swords, shields, guns, muskets and cannon balls. The photographs of former Maharajahs and the huge cannon on wheels fascinate everyone having a desire to explore the fort thoroughly.
