The Village is the solitary resort on the south east end of the CTR. It is blessed with the advantage of the lush jungle right up to the doorstep, solitude from the commercial and city crowd. The Village is the place where a wildlife lover can just peg down for weeks for endless uninterrupted observation and soak in the unadulterated wilderness.
The name JAAGAR has been inspired by age-old sacred ritual of Kumaon interiors. Jaagar is performed to invoke the blessings of the local gods. In this tradition, the Jagarias perform the bardic poetry along with the beating of the drums to seek the blessings of the local gods.
Spread over orchards of Mango, Litchi intermingled with trees of Red Silk Cotton, Jackfruit, Grapefruit, Teak, Bael, Mud apple, Mulberry Gooseberry and many more - The Village teems with nature’s bounty. The aroma of herbs, flowers, canopy of old trees, and the wild life lends a touch of adventure to The Village experience.
The Village coexists with nature, personifying organic and natural living. This includes growing our own vegetables, having our own apiary for honey, our own coops for eggs, cattle for milk and a lot more. Whilst offering all this with contemporary comforts and facilities, ecological balances have been maintained. Materials locally available have been used and the native villagers have been trained to bring to you classic experience of the yester years.
The Village exists in the lap of jungle and orchards bringing to you an experience par excellence.
A typical stay at The Village will have a back-to-basics experience, exposure to the ethnic culture of Kumaon hills, thrill of the wildlife via safaris.

Accommodation
Just as the sun starts creeping over the forest canopy, you’re woken by the song of the flowerpecker as they – like you – start looking forward to their day. You walk out onto your private verandah and take a deep breath, inhaling the (subtle) aroma of the basil, henna, marigold, chrysanthemums, intermingled with the jungle fragrances, and watch the mist from last night’s moisture rising gently from the forest as it begins to warm up. The seemingly distant sound of pots and industrious chatter suggest your hearty breakfast is being prepared. It’s another day in paradise….
The cottages are housed around the orchard and shrubbery ensuring a cocooned private world to enjoy nature’s bounty right up to your doorstep. The orchard and cottages create a maze of romance and intrigue. The pathways that lead up to the cottages are a treat… you tread and turn and lo! there in the midst of lushness is a quaint house waiting.
The cottages, although rustic, have spacious bedrooms, coffee seating to enjoy the orchards from within the bedroom, private verandahs, shrubbery garden, dressing rooms with ample storage and modern bathrooms.
Dusky skies invite the speculation and if you are lucky, just step onto your verandahs and you might just see hares, jackals, wild boars flee across the woods.
The dining experience at The Village is a reason in itself to be here.
What’s special about the experience is - unique local Kumaoni cuisine specially prepared under the guidance of the hostess herself.
The resort also offer multi-cuisine experience, like the Indian, Mughlai …... The meals are offered in buffet and a-la-carte setting.
The dinner is served to the background music of frogs, rustle of trees with constant chatter of the crickets. A shout afar now and then heralds the presence of wild hare or a herd of wild elephants on the nocturnal rounds.
To ward off the chill, one can enjoy the bonfire evenings with the live barbeque / tandoor adding to the pleasure of an outdoor and adventurous dinner.
To add to the charm and romance of the bush experience, a guest can also pre book an escorted bush dinner on a machaan or out in the wilderness.
Sit with Harish and Soma, and you will not know where the time flew. Share your experience and relish their tales of the jungle from boyhood stalking and hunting to deep appreciation of the wilderness.
Relax and touch your soul again at our various nooks and gazebos especially designed in the orchards to bring back the peace and nature.
The swimming pool and facility is planned to be functional in some time. On days when the sun shines bright and temperatures rise, when heat escapes the ground in wisps of hot air, our sparkling swimming pool would be the ideal escape.
Although the Village is not designed for corporate meetings, but for exclusive gatherings and special corporate get together, the lounge is an experience worth enjoying.
Twist the prosaic business offsite to poetic experience at our lounge.
The whole ambience has been especially designed to give the working mind a refreshing experience in thinking literally and laterally.
