Reaching Lower Dharamsala:- Many people prefer reaching lower Dharamsala, and then taking a 30 minute bus/taxi(cab) from there to upper Dharamsala.
By Air:- The nearest airport is Gaggal, which is about 12 kms from Dharamsala. Air decan and MDLR have daily flights from Delhi.
By Rail:- The town of Pathankot, at a distance of about 90 kms from Dharamsala, is a major railway hub and has daily connections with Delhi and other major India cities. From Pathankot, One could either take a taxi/bus to upper Dharamsala, or continue by train to Kangra Railway station,Which is only about 17 kms from Dharamsala.
