Document Requirements

- The Passport must contain at least two (2) blank pages and should have been issued within the previous ten (10) years.
- Two Photographs. 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with the head centred in the frame.The face should cover about 70-80 percent of the photo area. The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
- Covering letter on business letter hade if pax was self employed.
- Hotel Conformation.
- Insurance policy required. Minimum coverage of 30.000. - Euro per person.
- Day to day ittinary.
- Return conform ticket.
- Forex Endorsement With receipt or International Credit card copy.
- Income tax paper last 3 years.
- If employed then salary slips last 3 months.
- Original leave letter from company.
- Bank statement 6month.Updated ONLY
- Company tax paper last 3 years.
- Company bank statement 3 month.
- Copy of marriage certificate wherever necessary for e.g. if wife's passport is in maiden name.
- If pax is employee then leave letter from Organization.
- For honeymoon couple wedding invitation card and NOC letter from parents.
- NOC letter from husband and husband passport copy required if wife is traveling alone.
- First time traveler please provide Educational document.
- If pax joined New Company then please provide appointment letter.
Notes
- Foreign nationals can study in Switzerland for a period of up to 3 months without a
student/residence permit. However, if their stay exceeds 3 months within one year a permit has to be applied for the application has to be submitted to the Swiss Consulate General which will then be forwarded to the Cantonal authority, in Switzerland. The whole process takes 6/8 weeks.
- The visa application form is FREE OF COST and can be downloaded from the website
- The visa fee is NON REFUNDABLE
- The processing time for a visa application is 24 hours (NO SAME DAY VISAS!!!)
- Each case is reviewed separately at the time of application, and no guarantee can be given that a visa will be issued.
- Applicants above the age of 60 are required an international medical plan
- Please note that the visa application must be submitted to the Swiss Representation competent for your place of residence. A visa application not submitted to the competent Swiss Representation may be turned down. The Consulate does not accept visa application by post. However, you don't have to personally come to submit the same.
No visas are issued at Chennai & Kolkata -for Kolkata applications are to be sent to the Embassy in New Delhi & for Chennai applications are to be sent to Consulate General in Mumbai
Following instructions have been announced by the the Embassy to make the Visa Process Smooth and Easy.
- Photograph of the applicant should be glued but not stapled/ pinned.
- He Visa Form should be strictly signed by the applicant.
- All the fields have to be filled with specifications given to Occupation for e.g "Business" is not sufficient Correct way: Self Employed , proprietor of an Export House
- Main purpose to Travel should be specific as well for e.g: Tourism ~ tour in Switzerland ( indicate itenary) Business ~ Training program with XYZ organization.
- Only the needed and the relevant documents have to be submitted, the ones required for the Visa Requirement list, for e.g, latest 3 months bank statements till date, current one I.T returns , registration of the company and partnership deed.
- First & last page copy of the passport is also compulsorily needed.
- Urgent or same day Visa requests would strictly not be entertained by the Embassy.
- If the passenger plans to visit any other European Country before or after visiting Switzerland, he has to obtain a visa for that particular country before applying for the Swiss Visa.
- All recent ( last 2 years) refusal stamps should be accompanied by a written explanation, if possible of the competent authority who put the tamp.
Note: If any one does not follow these instructions the Visa Officer at the counter can refuse to take in the application form, since it would be considered incomplete. Processing Time
Please note that processing time for visa applications, is 24 hours. In the event that the passports are submitted on Friday, they will be given out on the following Monday / working day.
