Overview

Fifty kilometres from Nainital and Saat-tal, perched on Mukteshwar ridge, surrounded by apple and peach orchards is a camp inspired by a colour that blends perfectly with nature. Watching the sun set (or rise ) over Himalayan peaks, the distant graded mountains and the morning mist will all help explain why we couldn't have given it any other name.

Mukteshwar is located on one of the highest ridges in the middle Kumaon and apart from breathtaking Himalayan views, it is also known for its fruit orchards.

Long walks through the meadows, jungles and villages make for experiences close to nature, the hill people, their history and culture. For the more adventurous, endless days can be spent at the cliffs trying different grades of rock-climbing and rappelling with our professional instructors.

Mukteshwar is also the headquarters for the Indian Vetinerary Research Institute, which is a British time establishment and makes for an interesting guided tour with its angora rabbits, guinea pigs and pashmina goats.

Apart from the above, day picnics out in the jungles, meadows and streams, workshops based on forestry and other community development projects, on kite-making and flying and stargazing await you as much as the blazing campfire, endless cups of tea and day-dreaming on sun- drenched grassy slopes.

Accommodation

Residential tents : Accommodation in American Safari Tents along-with camp cots, mattresses and sleeping bags ensure a comfortable stay in the wilderness.

Bathing tents : Four tents with buckets, mugs and soaps and fresh running water. Wash area with wash basins, running water and mirror.

Mountain Bicycling
The foothills and the jungle tracks/streams make for a very exciting area for explorations on the mountain bike.

River Crossing
The big stream in front of the camp makes for a very exciting rope bridge crossing across the river.

Cave Explorations
There are lots of mysterious caves in the jungle waiting to be explored.
