Hemkunt Sahib Valley of Flowers Yatra

Hemkund Sahib is the holy seat of popular Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara situated at a height of 4329 mts above sea level in Uttarakhand.  The holy shrine is believed to be the place of meditation of Sikh’s 10th Guru Gobind Singh and thus is a famous pilgrimage route. Visit the northern land renowned for sacred mountains and untouched beauty and enjoy a divine experience.  Sikh and other pilgrims climb up the steep stone path to reach the ultimate holy shrine.  The tour is well combined with a trekking tour of beauteous Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand for an enchanting trekking experience. 

Day-By-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi - Haridwar (200 km by road)
Proceed to Haridwar and on arrival check-in a hotel. Later visit Har Ki Pauri & witness Aarti of the Holy River Ganges. Night stay at Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar - Karanprayag – Birhi (290 km by road)
Drive to Birhi and pay en-route visit to Karanprayag.  Evening arrive at Birhi and check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Brihi/Joshimath - Govindghat – Ghangaria (Trek 13 kms - Drive 63 kms)
Drive to Govindghat (1828 mts/ 63Km) and then start trekking to base camp at Ghangaria (3049mts/13 km trek). Stay overnight at Ghangaria.

Day 4: Ghangariaya - Hemkund - Ghangariya (Trek one way 4.6 kms)
Early morning start trekking up to (4.6 Km) Hemkund Sahib. In the afternoon trek down to Ghangariya. Evening is free for rest & relaxation.

Day 5: Ghangariaya – Valley of Flowers - Ghangariya (Trek one way 6 kms)
Morning begin trekking tour (6 Km) to Valley of Flowers. In the afternoon trek down to reach Ghangariya. Evening is free for rest & relaxation.

Day 6: Ghangariya - Govindghat - Rudraprayag (Drive 148 kms - Trek 16 kms)
Start trekking backwards to Govindghat and then drive to Rudraprayag via Joshimath and Karnaprayag. On arrival, check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh
Proceed to Rishikesh and on arrival check-in a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8: Rishikesh - Delhi (Drive 240 kms by Road)
Drive back to Delhi today.

Day 1: Delhi - Haridwar (200 km by Road)
The journey to the holy city of Haridwar will commence in the morning after breakfast when you will leave from Delhi for Haridwar.  Haridwar is a significant holy city marked by gorgeous views of River Ganges and numerous holy shrines.  Haridwar literally means Gateway to God and indeed here one can feel the divine presence.  According to Hindu mythology, Haridwar is one of the holy sites where drops of elixir of immorality had spilled and thus a bath in the holy Ganges is believed to free the soul off all malice.

An eventful day in the sacred city will reach its zenith in the evening when you will get to witness the Ganga Aarti at the Har-Ki-Pauri.  At sunset priest perform the Aarti ritual when lighted lamps are set on water; this evening will prove to be most soul-stirring and divine spectacle of your entire tour.
 
Day 2: Haridwar - Karanprayag – Birhi (290 km by road)
Early morning drive will take you to Birhi (1874 mts/220km) via Karanprayag.  Spend some time at the banks of the enthralling sight of confluence of rivers.  It’s mentioned in the famous Hindu epic, Mahabharata as the place where a Karna had worshipped Sun God.  Spend some time simply gazing at the spectacular sight of confluence of two holy rivers River Alaknanda and Pindar occurs. Later resume the journey to Birhi where on arrival you will be escorted to a well-furnished hotel for overnight stay.
 
Day 3: Brihi/Joshimath - Govindghat – Ghangaria (Trek 13 kms - Drive 63 kms)
The day brings a drive to Govindghat (63km).  Situated at the base of a lush green valley, Govindghat is the starting point for trekking route to Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers.  From Govindghat trek to Ghangaria (3049mts/13 km Trek) starts next.  Also known as Govind Dham, Ghangaria is a small picturesque village on the way to Hemkund Sahib.  Situated on the banks of River Lakshman Ganga, it contains the last human habitation in this narrow valley. Mostly draped in snow sheets, Ghangaria is a beauteous sight; the village will serve as the base camp to the trek to Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers as you spend the rest of the day here.
 
Day 4: Ghangariaya - Hemkund - Ghangariya (Trek one way 4.6 kms)
Start trekking (4.6 km) early in the morning to reach the renowned holy shrine of Hemkund Sahib. One of the most revered holy shrines for Sikhs, Hemkund Sahib is the world’s highest Gurudwara situated at an altitude of 4,329 mts. On arrival visit the gurudwara and enjoy the divine aura that surrounds.  Afternoon brings trek down to Ghangariya where rest of the evening is free for rest & relaxation.
 
Day 5: Ghangariya – Valley of Flowers - Ghangariya (Trek one way 6 kms)
Early in the morning start trekking (6 Km) to reach UNESCO applauded Valley of Flowers. A beautiful World Heritage Site, Valley of Flower is a National Park, nestled high in the western ranges of Himalaya, India. The park is renowned for its lush meadows of widespread alpine flowers and exceptional natural splendor.  In the afternoon trek down to reach Ghangariya where you will stay for the rest of the night.
 
Day 6: Ghangariya - Govindghat - Rudraprayag (Drive 148 kms - Trek 16 kms)
On this day your backward trek will begin. Return to Govindghat first from where you will be driven to Rudraprayag via Joshimath and Karnaprayag. On arrival, check into hotel.  Overnight stay at hotel.
 
Day 7: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh
Early breakfast & proceed to Rishikesh. A hub of masses of ashrams, yoga and meditation centers Rishikesh has emerged as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’.  The picturesque background of verdant hills, rippling sounds of holy River Ganges and soothing hill station breeze Rishikesh will rejuvenate all your jaded muscles. On arrival at Rishikesh check-in a hotel for overnight stay.
 
Day 8: Rishikesh - Delhi (Drive 240 kms by Road)
The day brings your journey back to Delhi. You will be driven 240 kms by road to finally reach Delhi where the odyssey to Hemkund Sahib ends.
