Day-By-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Rajkot - Junagadh
Early departure for Gondal. Visit Riverside Palace, Naulakha Palace, Huzoor Palace.  Depart for Junagadh.  Visit Uparkot Fort & Ashoka’s Rock Edicts in Junagadh.  

Day 2: Junagadh- Sasan Gir - Somnath
Depart for Sasan Gir National Park. Also, visit Somnath Temple.  Witness the grand Aarti ritual in the evening at Somnath Temple along with a sound & light show at the same.  

Day 3: Veraval- Porbandar – Dwarka
Visit Kirti Mandir, Ram Dhoon Mandir, Gayatri Mandir in Porbandar.  Depart for Dwarka next and visit Dwarkadhish temple at the Sangam. Later visit Sunset Point, free time for shopping.  

Day 4: Dwarka - Jamnagar
Morning prayers at Dwarkadish temple.  Proceed next to Nageshwar Jyotir Linga, Balarama, Subhadra, Dwarka Rukmini Temple and Satyabhama Devi temple. Depart for Jamnagar next . Local sightseeing at Jamnagar.  

Day 5: Jamnagar- Gandhinagar - Ahmedabad
Depart for Gandhinagar and visit Akshardham temple here. Evening visit to Law Garden Market.  

Day 6: Ahmedabad- Departure
Local sightseeing at Ahmedabad. Tourists will be dropped at Railway station/ Airport for onward journey.

Day 1: Rajkot - Junagadh
(Driving Time: 5 hrs)
On arrival at Rajkot airport drive directly to Junagadh, a small and ancient city situated at the base of stunning Girnar Hill which clouds the city beautifully.  The region around Durbar Hall Museum is flanked with exotic old buildings and the Uperkot Fort is particularly eerie. At Junagadh visit Uparkot Fort (319BC) famous for its virtual inaccessibility. Now almost crumbling, the fort is the most significant landmark in the city. Explore the fifteen foot cannon and the sites believed to be Buddhist caves and more.  Ashoka's Rock Edicts dating from 250 BC stand testimony to the ancient age.
 
Day 2: Junagadh- Sasan Gir - Somnath
(Driving Time: 1.6 hrs  & 2 hrs)
Early morning departure for Sasan Gir Safari Park. Visit Somnath Temple, followed by lunch at Somnath. One of the 12 Jyotilingas of Lord Shiva the temple has imposing architecture and is believed to have been built by Moon God. The architecture of the temple is believed to be the Chalukya style of temple architecture and is reminiscent of the skills of Gujarat’s famed masons. Also have a glimpse of the spectacular Aarti ritual in the evening when the temple seemed steeped in spirituality and the splendid ambiance makes the divine presence felt.  O/N stay will be at Veraval.
 
Day 3: Veraval- Porbandar - Dwarka
(Driving Time: 3.5hrs  & 3hrs)
On this morning proceed for Madhavpur beach from where you will be directed to Porbandar. A coastal city situated between Veraval and Dwarka, Porbandar is best known for being the birthplace of Father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi. It is the simplicity and untouched serenity of the city which attracts rare tourists and thus the city is free from chaos.  Its friendly beach and tree lined streets led to various sites related to lifespan of Mahatma Gandhi.

Later depart for Dwarka one of the holy cities of Hindus. As per Hindu mythology, Dwarka was the dwelling place of Lord Krishna and thus have religious significance for the devotees.  Visit Sunset Point or enjoy free time by indulging in a shopping spree.
 
Day 4: Dwarka - Jamnagar
(Driving Time: 3.6 hrs)
The highlight of today’s excursion will be the visit to renowned Dwarkadheesh temple and Rukmini Devi Temple.  Applauded worldwide for its architectural marvel The Dwarkadeesh Temple was built by great grandson of Lord Krishna in around 400 BC and is built of limestone and sand.  The current construction of this beautiful temple consists of influences of various dynasties which ruled the region as a result the temple captivates both devotees and connoisseurs of art.  Thereafter you will be driven to Rukmini Devi Temple in the same vicinity which is believed to be 2500 years old.  The temple devoted to Rukmini Devi, wife of Lord Krishna the temple is also an architectural wonder decked with lovely paintings and beauteous murals.
Proceed to Jamnagar next; one of the important states of Saurashtra it is also known as Jewel of Kathiawar for its exquisite handicrafts. The major attraction of Jamnagar remains its exquisite handicraft and the beauteous Jain temples which you will visit on this day. Begin the tour of the region on a pious note and visit the famed Jain temples in the region.  By the evening stroll in the local bazaars to shop for some of the handicrafts as souvenirs.
 
Day 5: Jamnagar- Gandhinagar - Ahmedabad
(Driving Time: 8.5 hrs)
Early morning leave for Gandhinagar. Gandhinagar is the capital city of Gujarat and is located on the west central point of the Industrial corridor between the two commercial hubs of Delhi and Mumbai. Named after Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhinagar with its big broad avenues and tree-lined streets is the second planned city of the country after Chandigarh. Most of the travelers are intrigued with the spectacular Akshardham temple; built elaborated with intricate designs and carvings the edifice was constructed out of 6000 tones of pink sandstone and is further embellished with well manicured gardens. Another interesting site in the vicinity is the Law Garden Market which you will visit in the evening to indulge in shopping extravaganza. Post sightseeing tour of the city you will be directed next to the final destination of the tour, Ahmedabad.
 
Day 6: Ahmedabad - Departure
Ahmedabad is the city that became the base for various struggles of Indian independence & gave birth to campaigns of civil disobedience to promote workers’ rights and political freedom. It is now an important commercial center & a base for textile industry.

You visit Hatheesing Jain Temple; devoted to the 15th Jain Tirthankar (Jain Apostle) the temple has been intricately carved and lavishly decorated with white marble.  Also, a visit to Sabarmati Ashram is a must. The nerve centre of India's freedom movement set up by Mahatma Gandhi in 1915, the Ashram was the first Satyagraha Ashram of Mahatma Gandhi and has a memorial center, library. Tourists will be dropped at Railway station/ Airport for onward journey.
