Overview :

Gir Birding Lodge Gir is designed for those who love nature and natural settings. Located at the very entrance of the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary & National park, the lodge has a superb view over the walls of the sanctuary of the forests. Set in mango and other fruit orchards, the lodge campus also gets a good number of birds coming in from the forests.

Accommodation :

Gir Birding Lodge Gir has a suite of two bedrooms for a family of four with a shared bathroom and cottages set among the mango groves. The rooms have attached baths with hot and cold showers, running water and western style fixtures.

Dining :

Meals at Gir Birding Lodge Gir are served in a dining cum sitting room decorated with wildlife pictures, with airy verandas facing the forest. Home cooked meals are served featuring North Indian and Continental dished with regional Kathiawadi food of Gujarat.

About Gir National Park :

Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is a 1412 sq km hilly tract of dry deciduous forests, acacia scrub, evergreen and semi-evergreen flora and grasslands, fed by rivers and streams. Among the many water-bodies in the reserve is the Kamleshwar Dam, known for its large crocodile population.

Originally protected by the Nawab of Junagadh, after British viceroys brought to his attention the plight of the lion in Asia, the sanctuary is the jewel of Gujarat's ecological resources.
