Day-By-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi – Palampur
Morning leave Delhi for Palampur. Arrive and check in at Hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Palampur - Dharamshala
Drive closer to the panoramic Dhauladhar ranges and up to Dharamshala. Explore the town. O/N at Dharamshala.
Day 3: Dharamshala
Day free for leisure & shopping in the Tibetan bazaars.
Day 4: Dharamshala - Dalhouise
Leave Dharamshala and drive to Dalhousie. After settling into the resort, try to catch the sunset across the mountain ranges.
Day 5: Dalhousie - Khajjiar
Flow through a mesmerizing experience at Khajjiar and explore Lakkar Mandi, Kalatope and Bakrota.
Day 6: Dalhousie - Chandigarh
Afternoon drive to Chandigarh en route visiting Pinjore Gardens. On arrival check in at the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 7: Chandigarh - Delhi
Enjoy city tour of Chandigarh visiting Sukna Lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden and government buildings etc followed by departure for Delhi.

Commence the journey to the beauteous Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh and first visit Palampur. A morning drive to Palampur will introduce you to the natural splendour of the land draped in thickets of pine, oak and rhododendron and beauteous vistas. Arrive and check in at Hotel. Day at Palampur is at leisure to pamper yourself at the small town famous for its scenic beauty. Explore this fascinating green hamlet surrounded with tea gardens and glittering with abundance of water bodies. Let loose and unwind in the middle of nature’s bounty. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, drive closer to the panoramic Dhauladhar ranges and up to the enchanting town of Dharamshala. Enjoy gazing at the stunning views of the snow clad mountains of Dhauladhar. After settling into the resort, explore the town, replete with Tibetan culture and the residence of His Holiness, The Dalai Lama Set on a sightseeing tour of Dharamshala and first visit a quaint little town, Mcleodganj. Also known as "Little Tibet" Mcleodganj is the place of residence of Dalai Lama. At the start of Mcleodganj is a small bazaar filled with variety of Tibetan handicrafts and artefacts. At the end of the spur lies the Namgyal providing tranquillity and solace perfect for a rejuvenating sojourn to the hills. Apart from gorgeous vistas and serenity, Mcleodganj is frequently visited by those interested in learning Tibetan Buddhism, culture and crafts. | | | | Day 3: Dharamshala | | Today, shop in the bazaar for Tibetan handicrafts. | | | | Day 5: Dalhousie – Khajjiar | | (Driving time: 2 hrs)
Flow through a mesmerizing experience. The vast emerald green meadow of Khajjiar with its thick forested slopes of deodhars, the stupendous mountain views from Lakkar Mandi, the unparalleled beauty of Kalatope and Bakrota round Khajjiar was probably a glacial bowl formed during the last Himalayan ice age and left with a lake that gradually withered away. Khajjiar is part of the notified Kalatop - Khajjiar sanctuary. Khajjiar is part of the notified Kalatop Khajjiar sanctuary. The Monal Pheasant, a bird which was fairly common till recent times has become relatively difficult to spot nowadays, but with a little precision and guidance of an expert you can spot these species here at Khajjar. The sanctuary surrounded by mountainous trees of coniferous, Oak, Deodar and Fir is home to various endangered species of birds. Morning enjoy half day city tour of Chandigarh visiting Sukna lake - The life line of Chandigarh, Rock Garden - Nek Chand's fantasy world, Rose Garden and government buildings etc.
While some visitors are impressed with the urbanized settlement of Chandigarh, others find the green and clean ambiance of the city perfect for a vacation amidst interesting tourist sites and buzzing nightlife. Most fascinating is the architectural excellence of the neat geometrical design of residential quarters and area layouts gives the city a unique westernized appearance rarely found in the country. Visit Rock Garden, a brilliant creation of a humble transport official, the park was put together by Nek Chand who wanted a small garden for himself and ended up creating grand sculptures inside a beauteous park. Also explore other beauteous sightseeing places such as Rose Garden and Sukhna Lake etc. In the evening enjoy the beauty of Chandigarh and shopping at the famous Sector-17 market.
Later in the evening you will be driven to the airport to board the flight back to Delhi for your onward journey. |
