The mausoleum of emperor Akbar represent his philosophy and secular outlook, combining the best of Hindu and Muslim architectures in a superlative region. Completed in 1613 A.D. by his son Jahangir, it is one of the well preserved monuments. This is the last resting place of the Mughal Empror Akbar.This is the last place where the mighty Mughal emperor Akbar took rest. The suburb of Sikandra houses the beautifully carved Akbar tomb . This tomb is made up of red sandstone. Akbar himself chose the site of Sikandra to establish this tomb. This tomb was later completed by his son Jahangir. The spectacular panorama of this tomb is due to the milieu offered by the city Sikandra.
