Abhaneri a small town village is situated 95 kms from Jaipur. It was established by King Raja Chand. It contains the ruins of the temple of 10th century that still boast of architectural and sculptural styles of ancient India.
The original name of the village was Abha Nagri, which means the city of brightness. It is famous for its Temples and Baoris (step walls) which helps in rain water harvesting. These Baoris were used as cool places at resort and water reservoir in parched days and the Temples are good evidence of great early medieval architecture in Rajasthan.
